About Fort Phoenix

Our Mission
Our mission at Fort Phoenix is to provide a safe and peaceful place for kids and adults to come have a memorable experience that will last a lifetime.
Our Goal
Our goal is to have updated, fully functional facilities with no overhead cost other than utilities and maintenance so that we can offer this experience with little to no cost to those who need it, and to be a place that churches and groups will think of as “their” camp and want to return.
Our Story
Current Church is a ministry in Collinsville Oklahoma that has been serving our community for over 60 years. Over the past 20 years we have been having summer camp and retreats at various campgrounds. Some camps would have a program and facilitators in place and we would just assist, where others would just provide the facilities and we would do the rest. These times seemed to be our favorite but much more work, however it was important to us to “do camp” like we envisioned. Our design for camp is not to only have an experience with our Heavenly Father but to also teach outdoor activities that can be used as life skills, such as kayaking, gun safety and shooting (air rifles), CENTERSHOT* Archery Program, fishing and horseback riding. We believe these are fundamentals that could shape a young persons interests and respect for the outdoors.
After many years of praying that we would someday own our own camp to design a program we could fully believe in for generations to come, the opportunity finally came in the Spring of 2022. We were offered a run down, deserted camp that was on Corps of Engineers land right on Fort Gibson Lake for an incredible price, an answer to prayer! Our only stipulation was that we had to bring it up to code and improve and maintain the existing structures. We would even be able to build new if we desired and with their approval. So we eagerly signed a 20 year lease on the property and got started immediately. This campgrounds has great potential but much has to be done to safely facilitate to the public. And so it begins…
